Sofa Cleaning Tips for Pet Owners
Nothing is better than a Sunday afternoon than putting a film on after a long walk and your best friend snuggling up to you for that belly rub.
But we pay the price for letting the furry join us on our sofa. Here are my top tips for keeping your sofa fresh.
Leather sofas are great for pet owners as they are durable and unlike fabric sofas pet fur does not cling to the sofa.
Once a week you should;
– Wipe clean using warm water with little bit of soap
– Lift all pillows and hover under the cushions as the fur will build up there
– Remember to pull your sofa out, pick up the toys which been missing and hover.
Every other week or once a month;
– To help eliminate smells, lift the seat cushions and drip some essential oils on fabric layer.
Fabric Sofa, soft and comfortable for all but more cleaning is involved to keep your sofa clean.
Once a week you should;
– Use a lint roller (get a reusable one as you will be using this a lot.)
– Hover under cushions, and quick hover of the top.
– Put the sofa out, gather the chew toys and hover.
Every other week or once a month;
– Spray with fabric fresher
– Hover the whole sofa
– After hovering do a once over with your lint roller to get the last of the fur out.
– Use warm water to wipe down all cushions. (avoid soap as this can damage some fabrics)
– For though stains use a microfibre cloth to scrub them out.
– To help eliminate smells, lift the seat cushions and drip some essential oils on fabric layer.
If you have better things to do than clean your sofa all the time, place a blanket on your sofa and encourage your furry friend to nap on the blanket.
